Meet the Manager (pictured below): Richard Lutgen
I would summarize my philosophic view of photography with words from William Albert Allard, “What is really important is to simplify. The work of most photographers would be improved immensely if they could do one thing: get rid of the extraneous. If you strive for simplicity, you are more likely to reach the viewer.”
Visit the Gallery and enjoy the art, and maybe we can have a nice conversation about the art of photography and what really excites us.
Agave Photographic Arts Gallery provides an opportunity to share my work and passion, with a focus on images of the Southwest.
When I go on a photography adventure, I try to become completely absorbed, and practice the discipline of “empty mind and crystal awareness.” I feel that I have gone into a zone that is like a state of meditation. I am focused totally on the image in front of me, everything else falls away, and I then compose intuitively. Cezanne put it beautifully when he stated, “When I paint and start thinking at the same time, everything is lost.”
